Biogelat Biotin 5 mg – 100 tablets
Biogelat Biotin 5 mg is a vitamin supplement.
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is a water-soluble vitamin and belongs to the B group of vitamins. This vitamin can be formed in the intestinal flora and can also be ingested through food. It is found in various organs and tissues in the human body.
Biotin plays an important role in metabolic processes (carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism).
field of use
Biogelat Biotin 5 mg is used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency (less than 0.2 mg biotin per day is sufficient for prevention) and to treat biotin deficiency in the very rare biotin-dependent multiple carboxylase deficiency (a hereditary disease in which an enzyme for breaking down biotin from food is missing).
Contraindications
Do not take Biogelat Biotin 5 mg if you are allergic to biotin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
interactions
If you regularly take anti-seizure medicines (anticonvulsants), please note that these medicines can lower biotin levels and, conversely, the effects of these medicines can be affected by biotin.
Taking Biogelat Biotin 5 mg with food
If you take biotin with large amounts of raw chicken protein over a longer period of time, the absorption of biotin can be severely restricted. The consumption of raw or insufficiently heated egg whites should therefore be avoided during treatment with biotin.
Pregnancy and lactation
Biogelat Biotin 5 mg tablets can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Biotin crosses the placenta and passes into breast milk.
Biogelat Biotin 5 mg contains lactose (milk sugar).
Please only take Biogelat Biotin 5 mg after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from sugar intolerance.
